Replacement parts
- Correct application timing belt
- Timing-belt tensioner and guide / idler pulley as fitted
- Sump
- Specified single-use fasteners
- Disturbed gaskets and seals specified by the procedure
- Correct-specification engine oil and oil filter
Checks and vehicle-specific items
- Inspect the oil pick-up strainer; clean or replace according to contamination and condition.
- Where belt degradation is found, inspect the vacuum pump and VVT filters and relevant oil passages.
- For turbo variants, assess the turbo oil feed; check applicable manufacturer software instructions.
- Assess the auxiliary belt and water-pump drive separately. Water pump and coolant replacement depend on the work required.
Not every PureTech engine has the same timing system. The vehicle identification and current repair procedure determine the final kit; there is no universal oil-pump-belt replacement item in this EB2 list.
Why the oil system matters
A belt-in-oil job needs the correct replacement parts and oil specification. If the removed belt has deteriorated, the oil pick-up and relevant lubrication components need to be checked for debris. Additional cleaning or replacement is assessed from the findings.
How to confirm the correct parts
Provide the registration or VIN, model, engine details and service history. An engine badge alone does not establish the timing-drive layout. The applicable kit, single-use fasteners and repair procedure must match the specific engine.
