Applicable Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engines use a timing belt in oil and a separate oil-pump drive belt. Both drives, associated seals and the oil pick-up need to be considered when planning replacement.

Checks and vehicle-specific items
- Inspect and clean the sump and oil pick-up; replace damaged or obstructed parts as required.
- Check lubrication passages and related components if belt debris or low oil pressure is present.
- Water pump, auxiliary belt and coolant are assessed and itemised separately where applicable.
Confirm the engine code: an EcoBoost badge alone does not establish the timing-drive layout or the correct kit. Sump and timing cover replacement are not assumed for every vehicle.
Why the oil system matters
A belt-in-oil job needs the correct replacement parts and oil specification. If the removed belt has deteriorated, the oil pick-up and relevant lubrication components need to be checked for debris. Additional cleaning or replacement is assessed from the findings.
How to confirm the correct parts
Provide the registration or VIN, model, engine details and service history. An engine badge alone does not establish the timing-drive layout. The applicable kit, single-use fasteners and repair procedure must match the specific engine.
What affects the quote?
